Steam-based: If you own Nuclear Throne on Steam, you can download the "Steam" version of the mod, which uses Steam's systems to implement networking, matchmaking, and invitations, just as you would see in a pretty decent game on Steam.
It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's nice.
